We are looking for a: System Engineer (m/f/d) immediately or by arrangement at the Zurich or Bern location.

Your Role

As a System Engineer (m/f/d), you move at the interface of software development, infrastructure, operations and modern AI-powered systems. In a complex and demanding environment, you work closely with software engineers, architects and other adjacent specialist roles to design, build and operate reliable, secure and future-proof platforms.

• You accompany systems and platforms from conception and design through implementation and operation to documentation.
• You work in agile, interdisciplinary teams closely with software engineers, architects, DevOps, security specialists and project managers.
• You participate in the analysis, specification and implementation of customer, system, security and operational requirements.
• You support the design of end-to-end solutions that combine software, infrastructure and operational aspects.
• You take security and cryptographic requirements into account - for example secure communication, certificates, key management and encryption - as an integral part of the system design.
• You bring an affinity for AI-powered systems, including deployment, operation and lifecycle management of Large Language Models (LLMs) on-premise.
• You support topics such as model hosting, compute resources (CPU/GPU), isolation, data protection and operational security for AI workloads.
• You are in direct contact with customers and actively support solution development as well as technical decision-making processes.
• You take responsibility for system stability, performance, scalability and continuous improvement.

What you bring

• At least three years of experience in system engineering, infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, DevOps or in a comparable role in a similarly complex environment.
• A broad and flexible technical skillset with demonstrable experience in close collaboration with software development teams.
• A sound understanding of modern system architectures, deployment models and integration patterns.
• Experience with Linux-based systems, networks, virtualization and/or container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Affinity for AI technologies as well as interest or experience in the operation of LLMs on-premise, AI inference services or data-sensitive AI environments.
• Basic to in-depth understanding of security concepts, including cryptographic principles such as encryption, certificates, key management or secure communication protocols.
• Familiarity with professional engineering and operational processes throughout the entire system lifecycle.
• A structured, careful and independent way of working.
• Very good German and good English skills.
• Readiness for personal security clearance.

Swiss citizenship or a settlement permit C as well as an impeccable reputation are required.
