Senior Assistant Professor

The Universität Zürich is the largest university in Switzerland; the Rechtswissenschaftliche Fakultät is one of the largest law faculties in the German-speaking world. The Fachgruppe Zivilrecht und Zivilverfahrensrecht comprehensively covers civil law, the Obligationenrecht, civil procedural law, and private international law in research and teaching from both national and comparative law perspectives. Law and economics and empirical perspectives are also represented. Currently, a senior assistant professor position at 100% (adjustment of the degree of employment or job-sharing possible by agreement) is to be filled. The subject focus will be flexibly determined within the framework of the research areas of the Fachgruppe.

The employment conditions are based on the cantonal legal requirements. The employment is limited to three years (with the possibility of a one-time or, in exceptional cases, two-time extension by one year).

Tasks

Your core task consists of research, in particular the preparation of a habilitation thesis in the field of private law or civil procedural law. The job profile also includes participation in teaching, including the conduct of your own courses. Furthermore, you will undertake tasks in the administration of the Fachgruppe.

Profile

You possess excellent academic degrees, an outstanding dissertation, pronounced joy in science and teaching, as well as high social competence. You are pursuing a scientific career and want to qualify for an appointment to a professorship within the framework of the senior assistant professor position. In view of this and the temporal framework of the employment, the advertisement is particularly aimed at postdocs.
