Tasks ## • as a team member and specialist management of the Electrical Engineering department, you support other internal specialist departments with various engineering services through your work • in your function, you focus on the integration of new systems into our vehicles (mainly trams, but also increasingly battery buses), whether to eliminate errors, replace obsolete components, or realize new functionalities • your area of responsibility ranges from problem definition to successful implementation - from small projects, such as the replacement of a single component, to an extensive midlife retrofit • you develop technical solutions, test their feasibility, and implement them in cooperation with internal and external partners • in doing so, you create concepts and specifications, conduct design reviews, as well as laboratory and field tests (sometimes at night) and document your results • with your commitment, you ensure that our vehicles meet the high demands for safety, efficiency, and reliability and are also forward-looking on the move in the public transport of Zürich • you work with a flexitime model with us in the Central Workshop in Zürich-Altstetten, very rarely also at night and outdoors • the 8-member team looks forward to your support and motivation Profile ## • 4-year vocational training as an Automation Technician EFZ, Mechatronics Technician EFZ, Electronics Technician EFZ • Bachelor/Master FH in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, alternatively HF degree from a technical college • you know the diverse BAV, fire protection, and safety standards in the area of (rail) vehicles • you have several years of professional experience in a railway technology environment or in plant engineering - you are familiar with communication, network, and vehicle technology • ideally, you have in-depth knowledge in the development, manufacture, and commissioning of (rail) vehicles or industrial systems • you have a high understanding of systems engineering and the integration of mechanical and electrical systems including the necessary software • project experience is another plus • your German is at native speaker level, your English is at least at level B1, this is important for the technical documentation and communication with suppliers We offer ## Lots of recognition for what you do: The people of Zürich like their VBZ.
