The Mittelschul- und Berufsbildungsamt is the competence and service center for vocational education and training, secondary schools, higher vocational education and training, and continuing education in the Canton of Zürich. The Mittelschulen department manages all matters concerning secondary schools.

For the projects "Weiterentwicklung der Gymnasien im Kanton Zürich (WegZH)" and "Untergymnasium-Lehrpläne" as well as for further tasks, we are looking for a female or male research associate (80%) starting immediately or by arrangement. The position is fixed-term until 30 September 2030.

Your area of responsibility ###

Are you interested in educational issues and do you quickly familiarize yourself with new topics? In this role, you will support the project and sub-project managements of the WegZH and UG-Lehrpläne projects in content-related, organizational, and coordinative project work.

You prepare meetings and events, accompany their implementation, create presentations, and secure results. In addition, you work on professional and conceptual topics and independently take over clearly defined work packages, for example in the evaluation of consultations, the preparation of educational policy decision-making bases, or the development of documents for school implementation. You structure complex matters, prepare information in a manner appropriate to the target group, and coordinate cooperation with schools, internal specialist departments, and other project participants. In doing so, you keep an eye on the next project steps and contribute to goal-oriented implementation. Furthermore, you accompany the technical implementation of new specifications and coordinate the corresponding work with the responsible IT specialist departments.

Your profile ###

You have a university Master's degree and have knowledge of the Swiss education system, particularly secondary level II. Experience in public administration, the education sector, or project management is an advantage.

You work conceptually and analytically, quickly grasp complex relationships, and know how to prepare them in a structured manner. You take responsibility for your tasks, work independently and in a structured way, and set priorities even with several parallel topics. You communicate appropriately to the target group, enjoy working in a team, and move confidently in exchange with different stakeholder groups. In doing so, you combine professional diligence with a strong orientation towards implementation. An aptitude for technical issues complements your profile. You understand your activity as a service to the schools, the project team, and the Bildungsdirektion.

You will work in a committed team at a centrally located workplace not far from the Zürich Hauptbahnhof. The terms of employment are based on the cantonal guidelines and include, among other things, the possibility of home office.
