The secondary I department is responsible for the training of secondary I teachers. It currently offers four master's curricula as well as specialty extensions, which convey professional skills for secondary teaching.   The position of professor of "History Didactics" is attached to the secondary I department, Geography, History, Religion and Culture (GHR) section. You will make an essential contribution to research and development in the following areas:   • Research in history didactics, historical teaching and learning as well as historical culture • Development of innovative and interdisciplinary learning approaches and environments, taking particular account of current societal challenges   The position includes at least 40% in training and 40% in research. What you will do. • Contribution to the (continuous) development of curricula in history didactics as well as in the multidisciplinary field of geography, history, political education, cultures, ethics and didactics of natural and social sciences • Acquisition, direction and realization of research and development projects in history didactics and related disciplines • Development, implementation and evaluation of teaching and continuing education events • Supervision of master's students and doctoral students • Network development What you bring. • University degree and doctorate as well as preferably an habilitation in the field of history didactics (or historical sciences) • Excellent results (projects, publications, knowledge transfer) in research and development in history didactics • Teaching diploma for secondary I or a neighboring school level (or equivalent proof of connection to the target level) • Successful and several years of experience in teaching and continuing education in the university field • Experience in third-party funding acquisition and project management • National and international network • Experience in supporting researchers in the qualification phase • Willingness to cooperate for the interdisciplinary and inter-university development of the "Social Science Didactics" research group at PH Zurich • Very good knowledge of the Swiss education system • Strong team spirit and convincing presentation What will excite you.
