With over 350 employees, the Bathing and Ice Facilities area is responsible for the operation of 21 indoor and outdoor pools as well as two ice facilities.

For the Hallenbad Oerlikon, we are looking for an engaged and independent leadership personality as a Deputy Operations Manager starting 1 April 2027 or by arrangement.

Tasks

• You support the operations management in the leadership and further development of employees as well as in the planning and coordination of personnel assignments. In their absence, you assume the deputy role within the scope of the delegated competencies.
• You participate in the management of the water surfaces as well as in the planning and coordination of revision and maintenance work.
• You are co-responsible for a safe supervision service and an effective alarm organization. In addition, you participate in regular training and rescue exercises of the team.
• Together with the team, you assume water supervision, rescue and medical services, guest care, water quality control, maintenance of technical facilities, cash reconciliations as well as cleaning and hygiene work.
• You participate in the further development and implementation of operational and security concepts, instructions, and guidelines and undertake the administrative tasks assigned to you.

Profile

• Completed basic vocational training (EFZ or equivalent) and experience in pool operations. Initial experience in the leadership or technical guidance of employees is an advantage.
• Valid Brevet Schweizer Badmeister*in, SLRG Brevet Pro Pool or recognized equivalent proof as well as valid BLS-AED-SRC-Komplett-Nachweis; the Badangestelltenkurs (BAKU) and the specialist permit for the disinfection of bathing water are an advantage.
• Enjoyment in dealing with guests and employees, strong service orientation as well as the ability to work in a team and to enforce operational rules objectively.
• Technical understanding, confident user knowledge in Microsoft 365 as well as very good German skills in speaking and writing.
• Independent, reliable, and careful way of working as well as willingness to work shift service with early and late shifts and to work on weekends and public holidays.

About us

The Sportamt is a service department of the Schul- und Sportdepartement of the Stadt Zürich. It is the competence center for sports promotion and provides sports facilities as well as indoor and outdoor pools to the athletically active population and clubs. The organization of mandatory swimming lessons as well as voluntary school sports are also among the core tasks of the Sportamt. With targeted information, the Sportamt motivates towards more movement and advises and supports sports organizations.
