The Kantonspolizei takes responsibility for safety in the canton with its approximately 4000 employees. For our traffic police specialist department, Dienst Verkehrsanordnungen, in Zürich, we are looking for a Traffic Engineer 80 - 100% # Your area of responsibility ### • Identifying danger spots in road traffic (BSM, RSI), conducting traffic engineering investigations according to VSS standards, as well as developing measures and concepts for the sustainable improvement of road safety • Checking traffic orders, traffic concepts, and road construction projects regarding compliance with the law, road safety, and traffic planning requirements • Drafting technically sound statements, decrees, expert opinions, and concepts on traffic-relevant issues as well as on political and legal proposals • Representing the traffic police in specialist committees and coordinating cooperation with cities, municipalities, federal and cantonal authorities, engineering offices, and other partner organizations • Conducting traffic analyses, traffic counts, and accident evaluations, creating complex evaluations in ASTRANA/VUGIS, as well as preparing and publishing geoinformation • Participating in the further development of road safety, supporting road safety campaigns, contributing to the introduction and further training of employees, and taking on further specialist tasks within the Hauptabteilung Verkehrspolizei Your profile ### • Swiss Bachelor's degree in traffic technology, traffic engineering, or a comparable field of study; alternatively, with a foreign Bachelor's degree: several years of activity in Switzerland in the field of traffic engineering • Further training as a CAS-Verkehrssicherheitsexpertin/-experte or the willingness to complete it • Training or experience with ASTRANA, VUGIS, or the federal infrastructure security instruments (ISSI) is an advantage • Very good German skills in speaking and writing as well as good English skills • Confident use of Microsoft 365; knowledge of ArcGIS and database applications is an advantage • Category B driver's license • Impeccable reputation What you can look forward to ### • We offer you a versatile and meaningful activity in a dynamic environment • Attractive employment conditions with a secure employer • The chance to make an impact in an exciting new challenge and to shape the future together • An attractive workplace in a central location with good parking facilities Start date: as of 1 January 2027 or by arrangement Any questions?
