The Department of Physics (D-PHYS) pursues a diverse research agenda and a broad teaching program, from the investigation of fundamental principles of nature to innovative technologies for society. A large proportion of the around 1,500 Bachelor, Master and PhD students, postdocs and professors, learners as well as scientific and service employees are involved in experimental research in one way or another. The Technical Operations have the optimal support of the research and teaching tasks of the department as their primary goal. The associated D-PHYS Shop provides researchers with around 5,000 technical items for this purpose. This service on the Hönggerberg campus facilitates everyday research and thus makes an essential contribution to efficient processes. The competent advice to customers in the selection and application of these items represents a central pillar of the service. We are looking for a motivated employee for the D-PHYS Shop as of 1 September 2026 or by arrangement. For the team in the shop of the Department of Physics, we are looking for a customer-oriented personality who enjoys a versatile and broad field of activity. Responsibility for the product groups machine elements, tools and installation materials. This includes ensuring availability, purchasing from suppliers, schedule control as well as assortment maintenance Technical advice to researchers and technical employees Provision and issuance of items (online orders and on-site collection) Goods receipt, price and invoice verification including the annual inventory Maintenance and co-management of the internet catalog and the database.
