Trained Cook with care mandate for people with mental impairments

Café & Conditorei 1842 is located on Napfgasse in the middle of Zurich's Niederdorf. The name stems from the founding year, in which the baker Johann Georg Eberle laid the foundation for today's café with confectionery with a sweets shop. On four floors, our guests are treated to homemade tarts and pastries, delicious apple strudel, coffee and tea specialties, the popular hot drinking chocolate, a beautiful breakfast and lunch offering and much more. In addition, the finest chocolate products, seasonal treats, sweet souvenirs and small meals are offered in the listed building.

Café 1842 with Conditorei belongs to the Stiftung Arbeitskette and is an integration business. Since 1994, the foundation has operated gastronomy businesses in Zürich and Schlieren. As an operational foundation with around 100 specialists, we are committed to the social and professional integration of trainees and employees with a performance impairment and offer around 165 performance-adapted training and work positions.

Your tasks

• Leadership of 2 Commis de Cuisine and 2 impaired employees
• Preparation of high-end snack cuisine with local fresh products
• Responsibility for smooth production processes
• Responsible for the Mise en Place
• Co-responsible for the smooth running of the kitchen
• Compliance with hygiene standards according to HACCP
• Orders
• Organization of the station
• Support with dishwashing
• Preparation of staff meals including menu planning

Your profile

• You are a trained cook and have experience in empathetic employee leadership
• As a member of our specialist team, you are an empathetic and open personality with good social intuition. You possess the gift of motivating employees with impairments and trainees through your positive aura and strengthening the team spirit
• Thanks to your humor and your high social competence, nothing will easily unsettle you
• You speak German
