The Personnel Office of the Canton of Zurich is responsible for all personnel, labor, and social security law issues of the more than 30,000 employees of the Canton of Zurich. The Human Resources Management (HRM) department includes a large number of tasks and is part of the Personnel Office. HR consulting, vocational basic training, employer branding, and case management are at the center of the work.
The Vocational Basic Training team passionately takes care of the recruitment, deployment planning, and HR support of the around 200 IT and KV apprentices of the Cantonal Administration. From January 2027, we are looking for energetic support for our seven-member team.
Vocational basic training means shaping the future.
Every year, around 35 KV apprentices start their training at the Canton of Zurich. Behind every apprenticeship is the chance to accompany young people on their way into professional life and at the same time train the specialists of tomorrow.
As the Specialist in charge of KV basic training (Co-management), you and your colleague will take responsibility for the cantonal KV apprenticeship network. Together with our practical trainers, you will ensure that motivated young people become qualified professionals – and thereby strengthen the future of the largest employer in the Canton of Zurich.

How can you contribute?

• In co-management, you accompany around 120 KV apprentices during the entire training period and actively help shape their personal and professional development
• Through the central HR responsibility for the apprenticeship relationship, you are leading the complete Apprentice Life Cycle (recruitment of around 35 apprentices annually as well as rotation planning, support, and advice for the apprentices in the network)
• Supporting existing and acquiring new training positions is part of your tasks, as is checking the operational requirements, defining standards and processes, as well as quality management
• You actively help shape the üK Fachstelle Zürich on behalf of the public administration sector. You organize and coordinate the intercompany courses as well as the qualification procedure and also contribute your expertise as a speaker in the courses
• Whether apprentices, practical trainers, or parents – you support, coach, and accompany people even in demanding situations with empathy, clarity, and solution orientation
• You work closely with vocational schools, authorities, professional associations, and internal stakeholders and represent commercial vocational training within and outside the cantonal administration
• You also organize and moderate training-relevant events (orientation days, information events, parent evenings, networking events for practical trainers)

Who are you?

• This demanding cross-sectional function requires a combination of HR and leadership experience in the vocational training context
• Ideally, you have further training in HR/Leadership/Coaching or a similar field and are interested in solutions to complex issues involving young people in training
• You enjoy working both operationally and conceptually, want to commit yourself to vocational training, and to constantly develop yourself and your area of responsibility
• With your open and communicative manner, you find it easy to build and maintain a trusting relationship with our various contact groups
• Between recruitment, coaching, organization, and quality management, you work in a structured, independent manner and never lose focus
